Featured in this auction is a magnificent flower vase made by Rookwood Pottery.  The vase is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs.  There are a few very-minor glaze misses just at the base rim with small scuffs and stray marks from gentle use.  This elegantly-tapered shape is a tall and sleek 9", 4" wide at the shoulder, and just over 2" wide at the rim opening.  The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2392 and the production year XX (1920).  The vase features a beautiful, stylized art-nouveau motif of peacock feathers.  Incorporated into the "feathers" are geometric designs that are more arts-and-crafts in nature.  This gorgeous glaze is a deep, matte dusty rose color that really accentuates the mold detail.  A green overspray has curdled on the vase.  The interior shows mild staining, and the exterior is relatively clean.  This vase is an excellent example of the art-nouveau aesthetic with a nod to arts-and-crafts!  Check out all 11 photos!  This gorgeous vase is a stunning, early-20th Century piece that would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet.  It would also be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector.  Check out my other pottery listings!
