Olympus OM-D E-M5 Spectrosil 2000 Full Spectrum converted camera
Up for bid is an Olympus E-M5 micro four thirds camera. The internal IR hot filter has been removed and replaced with a filter made from uncoated Spectosil 2000 Fused Silica which will pass UV from 170nm all the way to IR frequencies over 2000nm. This material is superior in all aspects to Schott WG280 or Quartz plate glass which passes UV from 280nm. Do not buy a full spectrum camera with an AR coated filter for UV photography as the coating will reflect some UV. I am the only service offering this superior product for full spectrum conversions. The result is what you see in the first picture in my listing. This is straight from the camera with the camera set for AWB. Lens filtration can be applied for UV or IR photography.
The E-M5 is the first in a brand new range of cameras dubbed OM-D, the E-M5 is a classically styled 16.1 megapixel model that offers the world’s fastest auto-focus system and the world’s first 5-axis image stabilisation system. Other key features of the Olympus OM-D EM-5 include a dust- and splash- proof magnesium-alloy body, 1.44-million-dot electronic viewfinder, 3 inch articulated OLED touchscreen, 9 frames per second burst shooting, full 1080p video, and a sensitivity range of ISO 200-25600.
The myth of the ‘retained dust reduction system’: Using clear glass to replace the fluorine coated ultrasonic shake filter originally used is a gimmick. Clear glass adds another layer of reflectivity and distortion to your images. And dust will electrostatically ‘stick’ to uncoated clear glass regardless of how many times you actuate the ultrasonic shake filter. The fluorine coating on the original shake filter reduces reflectivity and distortion, and reduced the static attraction between the dust and the shake filter allowing for the filter to drop the dust when activated. Unfortunately it also filters some IR and reflects some UV and has to be removed. I don’t sell gimmicks, just the finest converted cameras in the world.
The camera’s condition: It is mechanically perfect. Cosmetically it is as excellent but please see my pictures for the details as they are my description. The rear LCD has no dead pixels. The autofocus is perfect with all MFT lenses.
