***VERY RARE - Only 5,000 Minted*** ***Graded PF 69 Ultra Cameo by NGC*** ***5 ozt .999 Fine Silver*** This impressive and rare medal is the result of a collaboration between the Chinese Shenzhen Guobao Mint, Great Wall Coin Investments, Ltd., the New York Mint and the Smithsonian Institution. This medal was issued to celebrate 40 years of Giant Pandas at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington DC. These medals were officially minted by the Shenzhen Guobao Mint and issued exclusively to collectors through the New York Mint at prices in the thousands. The maximum mintage was set at 5,000 pieces across all grades. This is a proof-quality strike as evidenced by the "PF" grade and by the accompanying Certificate Of Authenticity. NGC independently graded this medal as PF 69 Ultra Cameo, making it one of the finest examples available. NGC is one of the most respected third-party-graders in the industry, leaving little doubt as to the quality and condition of this example. The medal itself depicts the Smithsonian Castle and the Great Wall of China on one side and the Pandas at the National Zoo on the other. Housed securely within NGC's holder or "Slab" and slotted neatly into the wooden presentation case, this piece is quite well protected and is beautifully, and impressively presented. This medal comes out of the estate of a local collector and is one of three consecutively numbered examples currently available in our eBay store.
