Q: How do I care for my new Marimo?
A: In an aquarium, you don't need to do anything aside from keep your Marimo in water that is 77f or cooler. In a vase or other small container, simply change the water and very gently roll your Marimo into a round shape every 2 weeks. This will keep your Marimo from developing flat spots.
Q: My new Marimo has a brown spot, or smells bad. What do I do?
A: It is normal for Marimo to have brown spots after shipping. These will disappear after a few weeks or less, and can be removed faster by gently rolling the Marimo under cool tapwater. If your Marimo smells bad, it is possible it froze or got too hot during shipment. If this happens, the Marimo is usually okay after it is washed. However, please contact us if the Marimo does not improve after a week and we will replace them free of charge!
Q: How can I grow more Marimo?
A: Simply pinch off some of a larger Marimo, and roll it into a round shape. After a while, it will stay round and grow into a new Marimo! Don't worry about hurting your Marimo by doing this, the Marimo reproduces this way in the wild.
