A beautiful Japanese doll in the style of a Heian era princess. She is seated in an elegant, multi-layered court kimono in red and gold, with her hair in the long ponytail of noble women.

Hina hime is made of cloth and wood/pressed paper. Her head is removable as it is on a pick that is sort of jammed into the wood of the neck.

She is about 6 1/2" across at the base, and approx. 5" tall.

Unknown age, originally part of an estate. Has no makers mark or other identifying information.

Doll has plenty of wear from age and storage- rubs spots on edges and places on the hands and face where the paint is worn. Hair has fly-aways and the ornament on front is splitting on top. Please see photos for exact condition.
