A rare and superb example of a quality built Professional Level Buffet BC 20 wooden French clarinet. Highly regarded by many discerning clarinettists for there superb quality wooden build and excellent sound and playability. I must highlight this is a very unique opportunity to purchase this model of clarinet in this mint condition.

The wood selected for these instruments are noted for there superb grain and the bodies are made to a very high standard. This clarinet is a excellent example of the craftsmanship, the wood is excellent with no cracks, lovely tight grain and no repairs.

This clarinet benefits from the side Eb key, as such it would be an excellent buy for someone looking for a professional level instrument such as a Buffet Tosca, without the high end price.

It is my opinion that a highly selected vintage instrument can more often prove to be a better buy then a new instrument straight out of the box due to the fact that the wood is often well seasoned tried and tested thus matured over the years for stability and performance enjoyment.

According to the research I have undertaken - when the American  investor Martin Tolchin bought buffet crampon in the 1970s he realised the success of the Buffet R13 model in the USA so decided to  create models based on the R13 but with an added aim on producing a darker more focused sound. The Buffet S1 as well as the BC20 and the conitnentale clarinets were created during this period as professional model instruments aimed at the European market.

The clarinet is in excellent playing order and has been fully overhauled for optimum performance using high quality pads for seating and durability. The keys have been disassembled, the key screws and shafts have been cleaned and re oiled for free movement of keys. The body has been oiled to help prevent cracking, the pads are all brand new quality brown leather pads for good seating and longevity. All adjustment corks and tenon corks have been replaced with new corks to insure the clarinet fits together well and the key work adjustment and venting is correct, the clarinet has been fully tested and blows well throughout its range.

In my opinion the clarinet is in fantastic cosmetic order (please see photos for your own assessment) please always expect light superficial signs of use such as marks as though overhauled it is still used.

The clarinet includes a very robust case as shown in photos. If the buyer would like a mouthpiece please request.

Postage high due to the case being heavy and insurance required
