LOREE OBOE
KK series, circa 1920 "Old, but really good!"
Very good condition- this oboe has been very well cared for its entire life
Best for a player with small or medium size hands
NO CRACKS of any description
Wood is extremely dense, tight grain
The surface of the wood is nearly free from scratches.  One tiny divot in the wood just at the tenon cut on the lower joint
Bore in excellent condition- no damage of any description, straight and true, much of the original bore polish is still in evidence
Silver plating is intact throughout
All cork pads, pads in good condition
Key fitting good - very good
Full professional model oboe, though this is a "Tabuteau model" and does not have an F resonance key (the fork F is fairly good even without benefit of an F resonance key).  Has left F, split ring D, low articulated C#, Ab-Bb trill, G#-A trill.
New ProTec case.  Original case (very good condition) is available separately- contact me...
I find the position of the thumb-rest too low for my playing- the new owner may wish to have the thumb-rest re-positioned higher on the joint.
THIS OBOE PLAYS EXQUISITELY-
This oboe has an "ethereal" sound, ideal [say] for playing Bach.  Scale, voicing, response- all "just so." "BIG" sound, with depth, resonance, a pronounced "ring," and a complex "core." Playing characteristics comparable -in my estimation- to a fine mid-B series oboe.  A complete delight to play.  This oboe, assuming that it is well cared for in the future, has lifetimes of music left to play.
This oboe belongs to an oboe professor friend. She has used this oboe as a back-up to a BI series Loree oboe and a Hiniker oboe.  She loves this oboe, though is selling the instrument to help finance the purchase of her first house.
Before my professor friend owned this oboe, it was owned and played by another professional oboist.
