The Hikvision DS-2CD2442FWD-IW is a cube network camera with Wi-Fi support for wireless network transmission, on-board storage via sd card, and IR infrared LEDs for night-vision recording. It has a small, easily adjustable body, and is great for use in homes.
Part of Hikvision's Easy IP Solution family of cameras and NVRs, the DS-2CD2442FWD-IW is built to be as simple to setup and use as possible. Mobile monitoring is possible via Hivision's mobile app Hik-Connect, or via their network solution iVMS-4500, making this camera easily scalable and perfect for use either as a standalone security camera, or as part of a larger system.
The camera comes with an in-built microphone and support for two-way audio, allowing you to hear what's being recorded as well as send sound via the camera's speaker, great when used as a baby monitor or to scare away would-be intruders.
This camera support power over ethernet (PoE), meaning that it's able to be powered via the use of a standard Cat5 or Cat6 network cable used to connect it to your network video recorder (NVR). This saves on installation and maintenance costs, and further streamlines the process to make it quick and easy. It also has a 120dB wide dynamic range (WDR) to ensure it captures great quality images even in locations with strong back-lighting, such as by windows or facing store-fronts. The 10m IR range is ideal for most interior locations and ensures you receive 24/7 security.
