Nikon F5 Camera Body

Description

This is a Nikon F-5 35mm film camera in very good to excellent condition. The cosmetics including the leatherette covering is in excellent condition with very minor indications of use. The shutter works as intended and all speeds seem to be correct. The prism optics are pristine being clear with no fogging or fungus. There are no dust spots visible in the view finder. The mirror is clear with no cleaning marks. The battery compartment is pristine and new batteries are installed. The meter works as intended. There are no nicks, dings or dents on the camera. There is slight edge wear on the small rear flap that covers the ISO, flash, BKT and CSM settings. 
 

The Nikon F-5 is the toughest and fastest 35 mm SLR made by Nikon. It originally sold for several thousands of dollars and was used primarily by full-time photo journalists and professional sports photographers. Nikon F-5s are now very affordable and are very appealing for general and fine art photography.

The Nikon F-5 is rain and dust resistant and offers 8-frames-per-second exposures with an auto focus system that acquires and tracks targets fast enough to support the high frame rate. The F5 has a very powerful AF motor, and powerful AF-S motor drivers, so lenses focus faster on it than on many other cameras.

The F-5 is powerful and smooth. It fires with very little recoil, owing to its internally isolated transport and active mirror-balanced counter weighted design. The F-5 is recognized as significantly better than the Nikon F-6 which was designed more for non- professional use.

SHIPPING & RETURN

For international buyers I will send an invoice at the end of the auction with actual shipping and insurance costs.

For international buyers I use USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance. For both domestic and international buyers in the event the item is damaged in shipping the buyer must retain the damaged shipping box and return the box and item to me. If this is not done the buyer will be responsible for recovery of any insurance payment for shipping damage and without the damaged shipping material this may be difficult. For international shipments to Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa the buyer is responsible for lost shipments at the point USPS tracking is no longer available and the buyer shall be responsible for filing any subsequent insurance claim. International buyers are responsible for payment of return shipping if an item is returned.
