A Rare Victorian Hallmarked Sterling Silver Double Desk Inkwell by Elkington & Co Ltd

The Inkwell base has a length of 10" with a max width of 7" and a height to the rear rim of 2 7/8" with a substantial weight of 21.1 oz or 598 grams

The Silver Inkwells have a height of 3 1/2" with a diameter of 2 1/4" with a combined weight of 19.9 oz or 564 grams

The Taperstick has a height of 4" with the base 2" square and a weight of 2.8 oz or 80 grams

The Total weight of the set complete being 43.8 oz or 1,242 grams

The Inkwell base stands on 4 Stunning scroll capped feet with an excellent shape to the base and a shaped pen holder to the front with 2 removable inkwells and a removable cast taperstick with a stunning pierced gallery round the rear of the stand with a gadrooned border all round (see photo's)

The Inkwells have a circular beaded base with a deep diamond cut to the tapering bodies with ribbed circular collars to match the base with the lids having excellent hinges and a wide circular lid which are again have excellent gadrooned rims and held in place by 4 shaped nuts (see photo's)

The Taperstick has a classic design with a square capped and fluted base with a knopped column and removable sconce with the base shaped to fit into the holder in the stand (see photo's)

The Stand bears an presentation inscription for the Wear Glass Works Sunderland (see photo's)

The Desk Inkwell is in Excellent Condition (see photo's)
