This is one of the finest Santa 1249 Simon Halbig dolls I have seen. This one is just simly gorgeous. Her bisque is perfect, smooth and creamy. Molding crisp and fine. No rubs, cracks, hairlines, or restoration. Light tested. She has a tiny wig pull near her Pate opening. She has lovely pierced ears, finely painted multi stroked eyelashes, beautiful multi stroke molded eyebrows, and a dimpled chin. Open mouth with four teeth, accented nostrils and inner eyes, and original set rich blue glass eyes with working rocker. Eyes are in original set and have original eye wax. She has the little triangle Mark on her lower lip that is characteristic of Santa doll.
Marks. On head 1249 / DEP/ Germany/ 11 1/2. Santa
Body. Her body is one of the best and most perfect I have found. Original finish, all fingers and toes intact and original. No cracks. Beautiful composition, poses extremely well, stringing excellant. 13 joint body
Costume. She wears an antique blonde sausage curl human hair wig in original set. Tied in her hair is a large silk ribbon bow. She is wearing antique brown leather shoes with brown ribbon silk ties. Her socks are crocheted Ivory silk. She has a nice pair of antique batise pantaloons trime in antique lace. She wears a matching chemise slip, has a bustle pad, extra full half slip that also matches. Her dress is just a divine silk dream. Pale pink silk with a dropped waiste, rushed bodice, puffed upper sleeves and antique ecru lace lower sleeves. The lower dress if full and adorned with gorgeous antique ecru lace and a lace and millinery flower rosete further adorn the dress. A large silk chiffon bow finishes the back of her dress. This girl must have just returned from a trip to Paris for her costume is just the epitiome of Parisian design. This is the doll who will haunt your dreams if you let her get away.
