A rare pair of antique sterling silver candle wick trimmers with a sprung scissor action. The decorative scissor handles and the engraved armorial mount are made of hallmarked silver. The scissor box (with a guillotine action) and wick trimmer are made of polished steel. Sheffield 1825. Maker Joseph Rodgers.
Biography: Joseph Rodgers & Sons subsequently became J Rodgers & Sons Ltd
Condition: This fine pair of candle snuffers is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. The mechanism is in good working order and has a crisp action. The silver hallmarks are clear and easy to read.
