S.T.O.P Hypergonar Series C Cinemascope Twentieth Century Fox    Serial No.2575 

I presume this is a vintage cine camera (professional movies) lens - 
has front and rear brown leather protective caps and a heavy duty metal clamp 
that fits around the narrow part of the lens at the rear 
(probably a focusing ring to attach handles to) 

 The front has a red metal ring which screws on and off. 
Its a big old heavy lens and therefore has some marks to the outside from normal wear and tear - 
owing to its age there is sign of fungus to front element 
which is not unusual for lenses of this age and size.  

Made in NICE France low serial number 2575  
no idea if this would be used today  

selling as a great vintage display item of movie memorabilia

I was informed it can be  used as a camera lens on digital units set to "full screen" and then played back to stretch the image to more or less look normal but have the shallow DOF of anamorphic wide open
