I have on offer with no reserve, a very finely hand-painted portrait miniature of a good looking young man known as Richard John Bassey, a member of the Pitt Club in London. He has short dark hair and is wearing a blue coat with white shirt and black stock, set against a turquoise and grey background.
This miniature is watercolour on natural wafer and was painted around the 1810s in England.
It is set within a gilt frame with convex glass on the front and  pinned maroon silk backing.
The condition of this miniature is very good, the colours are bright and strong.  The wafer has very slight bowing to the edges but I point this out for accuracy. There is some slight rubbing to the gilding on the frame at 1 o'clock.
The actual miniature measures 1 7/8"  x  1 3/8".
Please check out my other miniatures for sale this week and good luck bidding!
