"The latest collection from hard-popster Geoff Westen is I'm Not Crazy. Westen's characteristic quirky and eclectic storytelling is showcased in his third album of songs on the Disturbing Music label. On INC, Geoff continues to follow his own musical muse, fearlessly traversing the line between PowerPop and PowerPunk. The songs are drawn from observations made over the course of the eccentric, yet sophisticated life of the career artist and performer. Both reviewers and fans alike have responded to Westen's instinctive feel, traditional songwriting chops, catchy melodies and memorable hooks. The common denominator on all the tracks is his integration of the gamut of music styles that he has performed over his career. This includes his curious production approach, where he paints his audio canvas with layers of music to create his "Wall of Pop" trademark sound, revealing more colors, textures and flavors with each repeated listening. Making himself the central character in the songs rather than telling stories about other people is another distinct component of his songwriting. INC's 10 songs (plus 2 alternative mixes) make up this joyful pop-rock songlist. "Partyline" and the mischievous "Xciting Eyes" rock out with enough guitars and energy to fill an arena. "I Don't Know Why" and "Make It Last Forever" sound like pop song standards while "Love Has Let You Down" is a classic heartbreak ballad. Little gems like "The Big Mistake," and "Condition Red" are pure Westen - exploiting his highly stylized Punkish pop tracks"

Bio
I'm Not Crazy is the latest collection from hard-popster Geoff Westen. Westen's characteristic quirky and eclectic storytelling is showcased as he continues to follow his own musical muse, fearlessly traversing the line between PowerPop and PowerPunk.

His recorded music history stretches back into the depths of rock history, first with GNP Crescendo Records as a member of San Francisco's The Other Half - known as the loudest band to take the Avalon Ballroom stage - then back to L.A. as a member of Epic Records' C.K. Strong. Those early albums and songs still resonate in compilation and reissue hell on Rhino's Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From the First Psychedelic Era, and last year's reissue of C.K. Strong by World in Sound in the Deutschland.

His musical journey moved across the country accompanying chart-topping pop artists...ultimately grabbing a coveted musician's spot performing weekly on a national NBC variety show. Borrriing...

Coming off the road, Geoff launched a recording lab/creative shop called Oz Studios to provide one-stop services - graphics, wardrobe and a demo studio - that utilized his other creative muscles, designing award-winning album covers (Steely Dan's AJA), logos (The Pointer Sisters) and Contemporary Security (the world's largest event security company who still flaunts that trademark!).

Westen returned to live performance with The Balls. After conquering the L.A. clubs, The Balls were signed to Bill Curbishley's (heard of him?) Claude Hopper Productions in the U.K. where they recorded their debut album at Pete Townshend's Eel Pie and The Who's Ramport Studios. They were promptly banned by the BBC for their suggestive name before being able to secure a foothold on the charts.

Returning to the States, Westen signed with Sound City and recorded his first solo album during their studio heyday. Sound City is now, of course, launched forevermore into infamous rock history on Dave Grohls' 2013 Sound City documentary.

Geoff's had a couple of notable covers, "Leather Boots" on Alice Cooper's Flush the Fashion (recently re-released by Warner Bros.) and the European single "Lovin' You" by Shocking Blue lead singer, Mariska Veres.

Westen launched Disturbing Music in 2002 to record and distribute his recordings. Drawing inspiration from the best rock artists from the '80s well into the new

century, his instinctive feel and traditional songwriting chops deliver catchy melodies and memorable hooks.
Westen's first two songs albums anointed him a Power Pop artist supreme. The Pigs—OINK! and Vidiots – Tune In!! showcased his dark humor and sarcasm, and affirmed his position as a hardpop specialist.

His varied influences also led to studio experimentation, recording instrumentals under the name Digital Activity, that he calls Rock Ambient Music. RAM travels in the cracks between accepted pop genres, building upon, and flashing between, all the best sounds in his musical arsenal. The first of his Digital Activity albums Birth, morphed into Activate...and you can hear his traditional Digital takes of Holiday faves on his Xmas Vol. 1.
Geoff is a well-kept secret - single-minded and skillful. He is probably a little less Pop than The Pigs, a bit more Punk than Vidiots, and a lot more commercial than he thinks. His decades of music experience, gigging in the Haight, grinding cross-country tours, to the effete and rarified world of the London music scene, and what feels like eons in the studio, are all reflected here.

Through it all, Geoff remains highly unpredictable. It's been said that, "it doesn't matter what kind of music he takes on, he beats the crap out of it. He owns it!" And among a discography of albums that covers all the musical territory between Pop, Punk, Rock and Ambient, Geoff continues to bang out a legacy with no guidelines or boundaries.
