Beautiful Gillette 1918 Single Ring Open Comb DE Safety Razor Gold Tone (Serial #H329131)
Nice collector's item.
Unlikely that this is your birth year razor, but perhaps that of a loved one.....

From Badger and Blade
The first safety razor using the new disposable blade went on sale in 1903 and was just called the Gillette Razor. Today this first razor is called by the shave community, the double ring. This is due to the fact that there are two decorative rings underneath the head. The Single Ring was the second model razor Gillette produced. Sometime in 1906, Gillette razors with only a single ring started to appear. We can only presume this change was made to lower production costs. These continued to be produced up until 1921 when the first Aristocrat appeared.

The razor is attractive and seems to be in nice condition, considering its age.
There is significant plating loss and wear evident on the handle.
The head shows some plating loss and wear (particularly one large spot), but maintains some luster as well.
Some of the end tongs are bent slightly inward.
There is a significant crack (common in this type of razor) beginning in the neck area of the handle.
