Huge Crushed Velvet Curtains

Pillar Box Red

113"Drop ~ 152"Wide

These curtains were made for a hotel and never used. The supplier was 'Sunbury Designs'  and if you google the name you can see this plush velvet fabric on their website. I have copied their description of the fabric below. These would be suitable for a hotel, licensed premises or hall as they are fire retardant. They would also be stunningly beautiful in any home ~ quite the focal point in any room.

"Plush is a sumptuous, thick pile crushed velvet. Available in superbly deep rich colours. Plush is a real statement of classic luxury. Perfectly suited for severe contract and hospitality interiors, wipe clean care and fully meeting UK, IMO, European, US and other worldwide standards".

Each curtain measures 113 inches in length and is 76 inches in width ~ this is the unruffled / ungathered measurement. I would recommend that these be hung on a pole / track that measures between 76 and 114 inches in length. Please measure your pole or track rather than the window as the measurements normally differ by a few inches.

I have the receipt for these and will send it along with the curtains. It details the fire retardant standard and the original cost of £459.60.

In the photographs my pole is 70 inches long and the curtain is gathered to approx 45 inches.

Postage is by Courier and if your address is Highlands & Islands or Northern Ireland please wait for my invoice before paying as unfortunately all couriers charge more for delivery to these areas.

I can post daily but normally do not send on a Thursday or Friday as I do not want my parcels being held (possibly squashed / lost) in a depot over the weekend. If you would like me to post your parcel on either of these days then please ask and I will do so.

All parcels are uninsured unless the buyer requests and is invoiced for insurance. This keeps the postage cost as low as possible while allowing EACH buyer to choose whether they want to pay for insurance or not. If a parcel is lost in transit then I will help in any way that I can to trace it.

Please ensure that your eBay address is up to date and correct as this is the address that I will use for posting. I am happy to add notes to the parcel regarding delivery instructions / mobile numbers or to leave in a safe place BUT you must inform me of these as soon as you pay. I often arrange the courier as soon as I see payment received so the parcel will be posted next day.

Is vintage for you?

This is just a little paragraph that will hopefully help you decide whether or not vintage curtains are for you. Colours can show quite differently depending on the laptop, mobile or tablet that you are using so I always try to describe as accurately as possible and often use either Farrow & Ball or Dulux paint charts in my photographs. If you require an exact shade to match with your current soft furnishings / carpet or furniture then I really would recommend hand picking a fabric as buying on the strength of a photograph on your computer will never be as accurate. I must also stress that when an item is listed as having been cleaned it means exactly that ~ sadly not transformed back into the perfect condition that it was when new. Curtains that have been cleaned will often still have watermarked / faded linings, the odd stubborn mark or some other flaw ~ these will be described and photographed. Clean does however mean that the curtains will not smell or be dirty in either appearance or to the touch. I always mention and photograph any marks that I consider significant ( I am very picky) but please remember that vintage curtains have been hung before ~ sometimes for many, many years and there will usually be signs of this. New velvet will be perfect and show no signs of sun or use BUT it will never replicate the touch and quality of their older counterparts. The choice is with the buyer!
