Up for sale a custom modified vintage manual Helios 44-2 58mm F2.0 in M42 "pentax screw" mount. The M42 mount adapts easily to Canon and all mirrorless systems via inexpensive adapters.
Slim Oval "Anamorphic" Bokeh was created, inner light reflections were gently intensified, contrast lowered and flares inhanced, lite blue tint added to flare.
The lens can be used on Canon or any mirrorless camera with the right adapter. It is recommended to use an ajustable adapter - that lets you rotate the lens.
I can supply an adapter for Canon EF, Sony E, Panasonic M43 for a small additional fee.
The lens is light and comfortable to use. Focus rotates about 250 degrees, step-less aperture goes from 2.0 to 16, filter thread 49mm.
Focus goes just a bit beyond infinity, to compensate possible adapters imperfactions.
Rubber gear for follow focus was installed on original focus grip - it is also nice to touch and can be used for manual focus with comfort.
Neutral density semi-transperent element was added to the optical system to create the oval bokeh, while maintainig as much as possible the lense'e brightness and light transmition.
Light transmission fall-off is approx 1 stop, compared to a regular lens of the same model. The use of such element allowed to keep the original aperture mechanism untouched.
You will get the oval, "anamorphic" bokeh when wide open at F2.0 and at 2.5, closing further will create bokeh in the shape of the original aperture,
after about 4.5 the effect caused by the oval element disappears.
This lens is sharper then the vast majority of anamorphic set ups using projection lenses.
To avoid any misunderstandings - this lens does not squeeze the image or changes aspect ratio, the only "anamorphic" atribute it delivers is the oval, prolonged bokeh. It is a regular vintage manual lens with an added effect.
A wonderful lens for video or video-art, as well as photography, if you are looking for some special look.
