The ONLY way of determining the lot number is to look at Q1028 and R1595
Q1028 is in a SOT-89 package on lots 1-24, not a TO-252 package as on later lot numbers.

A common fault on this rig is failure of the +5V regulator which destroys the input power MOSFET, reverse bias diodes, digital transistor, dual diode switch, series schottky diode and limiting resistor.

The resistors provided in this kit of parts are in identical sized packages but have a higher power rating.
