The 3rd Person View camera mount is a unique camera mount to film yourself in action. The system is designed to be flexible (in use) but stable enough so you can mount a camera behind your back (or from the side or front) to create the impossible 3rd person perspective. Recently, GoPro came out with a new camera (Hero3+), and in their campaign for this camera they used the 3rd Person View camera mount from Sail Video System to get the most amazing shots. You've seen it, the GoPro video with the man playing with lions like if they were pussy cats! That's the exact same waist mount you are being offered here.
This one is called the Skate/Ski version (part # SVS-001), which can be used for various sports: Skiing, Snowboarding, Surfing, MountainBiking, Motorcycle riding and even extreme fishing and many other sports. The belt has been designed to fit (almost) everyone that wears pants size between 28 and 35 and can even be used with ski jackets. If you prefer, we also have the Kite/Windsurf version which attaches directly to your existing harness. Contact us directly if you prefer to get that one instead.
The ‘3rd Person View’ camera mount Skate/Ski version consists of 2 parts:
• The backplate that is made of clear technical polyester sheet that is extremely durable and that is worn with a waterproof adjustable sports belt, and an additional (non flexible) belt for extra stability.
• Fully adjustable camera pole with a clear silver or black anodised finish, choose the one you prefer. The pole consist of 2 parts:
*The 1st straight part that connects to the baseplate with the unique locking/release mechanism.
*The 2nd part that has a 40 degree angle (so the camera will not just be filming the pole, but you)
To connect your camera there are several options that are not included with the mount check them out below:
A: Large Ball Head Adaptor 1/4" and 3/8" for use with later ball heads and DSLR cameras of max. 1 kg. (not advised for action sports).
B: GoPro Seat Post mount (ore similar product depending on your camera).
C: Mini Ball Head in combination with GoPro Tripod mount (ore similar product depending on your camera) The Mini Ball Head has a 1/4" screw to attach to the camera, this setup will give you maximal freedom to line up your shot.
