Here's an original WW1 US Corps of Engineers Pocket Compass.  Engraved USCE on outside of the brass hunter case.  Measures 1.75" in diameter.  Hinged cover that snaps closed. Swivel bail with button release for the cover.  Compass dial marked CEEBYNITE, a trademark of Taylor Instruments of Rochester, NY who made it in conjunction with the famous London instrument maker, SHORT & MASON. Patent dated APR. 20, 1915. This model had radium on the dial to illuminate at night but its half-life has expired.  The compass dial rotates but I don't think it's finding North any longer so don't buy it with plans to use it on a hike....It's a piece of history.   Guaranteed to please the new owner or I'll buy it back.  FREE SHIPPING IN THE USA.
