NOTES:
The PBF is a special mask most likely used by border troops and other units that needed a light weight gas mask that offered freedom from the typical heavy rubber tube. The mask also featured a speech diaphragm and an exhale valve on the front. Like most Soviet masks from the cold war era, the PBF was made in both gray and black rubber.
There has been some debate as to whether or not the filters for these masks contain asbestos they do not contain asbestos but they do contain activated charcoal, which might be inhaled by the wearer if the cotton seals inside the filter are damaged
