One Direction - a UK-Irish boy band that has taken the world by storm in the last 3 years. Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles - together they form One Direction. Each boy auditioned for UK TV show 'The X Factor' and each showed talented voices, but judge Simon Cowell and his fellow judges decided to put these 5 boys into a group - One Direction. Immediately these boys gelled after not knowing each other previously and the judges had formed a group that the world fell in love with. The boys finished 3rd in The X Factor, many people believing they should of won but everyone knew that this boy band would be a global sensation.
 
3 years later, One Direction has gone through a whirlwind adventure, from touring countries and singing to their devoted fans, to having 5 million Facebook fans and over 3 million followers on Twitter.
 
1D constantly release new music and their fans can't get enough of them.
 
One Direction has released 3 albums since coming into the music world in 2010. Their first and most famous single 'What Makes You Beautiful' has had over 100 million views on Youtube.
