SS = brand new, still sealed.
M = mint, or unplayed condition. cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age.
NM/
EX = near mint, minor scuffs which are only slightly visible and not affect sound, no
scratches. cover also has only slight wear, eg. may have edge/ corner
wear or a minor crease, and is still in nice collectible condition.
VG+ =
vinyl still has a great luster, record shows wear, surface scuffs.
flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye but will not distract
significantly from the sound. a virtually clean cover, but may have
small writing on it, creases, corner/ edge wear, spine wear, etc.
artwork looks clean with slightly more aging.
VG = overall wear, but
no skips or serious defects, more noisy sound/ crackles during quiet
passages. cover may have drill hole or tears, minor seam splitting, or
yellowing, usually with heavy ring wear.
VG-/G = heavy wear on record and cover. possibly some skips.
G- = rough condition, skips, but still playable in parts.
P = poor condition, can still be used for framing.
