Vintage 1966 Marshall JTM 50 Plexi Super PA Amp

The Marshall Super PA 50w #1963 had two “sections” (The most common thing to do was to set one section to Lead specs and the other one to Bass specs). With a standard eq (presence, bass, middle, treble), a total of 8 inputs (4 for each “section”) and 4 volumes, this thing is a real tone monster.

Serial Number: 7177

Transformers: Drake (one has been rewound)

Voltage Selector: Yes - UK & USA

This amplifier has been serviced to a playable & safe standard, by one of our leading amp techs. To find out more about what our service includes, please check out our terms and conditions before purchasing.

Condition

Overall ‘good’ condition, with obvious wear and tear. There is a white paint strip on the back added by a previous band & there are a few obvious scuffs to the tolex. The faceplate also shows some cracking around the 'presence' knob & there is general discoloring as to be expected. This amp screams vintage mojo! The original Marshall badge has been glued back together too, but is complete.

Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description.

Originality

Internally and externally original, except for minor service component changes i.e. caps, resistors, etc. The original 'Drake' transformer has recently been rewound by one of the top guys in the UK. We believe at one point someone attempted a mod to the back chassis plate but this has since been covered up & reverted back!

At The Music Locker we will do all we can for you to get the instrument you want. You’re more than welcome to come and have a play on this, coupled with one of our vintage guitars!
