Original WWII US Army USMC 1943 Front Seam Fixed Bail M1 Steel Helmet Firestone Liner.

Steel liner is stamped 731B so it is a late 1943. The paint is 70 to 80% present and in good condition, one side saw moisture and as has surface rust. Some yellow painted letter. The inside paint is very good. Front seam and good fixed bail cotton.

A good firestone liner without cracks. The sweat band is present and the leather is in good condition and not dry.

It is missing the cotton loop in the center. The original leather chin strap is broken and is an early desirable green metal hardware type as well as the leather sweatband clips. The cotton webbing is attached to the liner with blackened metal hardware.
