Up for auction is a new official baseball cap from the winning team of the world’s premier ocean race: The Volvo Round The World Ocean Race, 2005-2006.
The Volvo Ocean Race is a yacht race around the world, held every four years. It is considered the ultimate sailing adventure.
The cap was manufactured in Italy by the firm Fabrizio. It was designed by Danielle Monti especially for Team ABN/AMRO. The cap is 100% cotton and is super comfortable. It is well constructed from multiple pieces of colored cotton fabric. It features the rubberized ABN/AMRO team logo and a piece of the original hi tech sail material that was partially responsible for ABN AMRO's awesome performance. Around the edge of the bill, there is discrete writing stating, "TEAM ABN AMRO in the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-2006". This type of cap was issued to crew of the two ABN/AMRO yachts for the race (the last picture below shows one being worn on far left)!
The cap is new old stock with original hang tag as well as a patented fastening device that allows one to positively secure the cap via a lanyard to a shirt or jacket (now you won't have to worry when your hat blows off your head!).
I wear one of these at it is one of my favorite caps here in Europe. Great for any Sailing Race fan and collector of Sailing memorabilia.
