Description: A fine portrait oil on artist's board, signed "E.J. Elliott" and dating circa 1970. Framed - A Portrait in Yelow and Orange this fine oil on board is a vibrantly coloured study of a beautiful young woman. Wearing a sumptuous orange top with deep collar and cuff she turns her head to our left to present her profile, her long hair swept back and over her shoulder and has her right hand raised to her shoulder, wearing an impressive ring, diamonds catching the light as do her long nails. The yellow light that dominates the ground of this painting is intensified in this central area of the painting. Her neck, and hand and ring emphasised. The flesh tones of her face remain beautifully balanced. The work is signed "E.J. Elliott" lower right for "Edna Joan Elliott". This may well be a self portrait.

Artist Biog: Edna Joan Elliott - devoted wife and creative partner of Peter John Elliott (Elliott Shelley) - better known by his painting name "Elliott Shelley". She was his creative partner in both musical and artistic projects.
