Original Vintage Edinburgh Oil Painting Town House Cannongate Attrib Harrison
Description: An excellent architectural oil on artist's canvas board dating circa early 20th Century, framed - approx 20 x 16 inches (51 x 41 cm). This is an excellent English Impressionist oil dating from the early 20th Century period. The architectural depicts a fabulous view of a large multi-storied town house with Georgian style windows and window boxes. Shadows are cast across the courtyard, a passageway leading to the street beyond. The artist has used thick impasto oils to create depth and texture to the image. A fine piece from probably around the early 20th Century, although not signed, the work is by "Hilda Harrison".Date: The oil probably dates to around early 20th Century.
Framing: Earlier ovolo moulded Gesso work. Finish: Gilt. The oil is mounted on board.
Condition: The painting is in excellent original condition. The frame, which appears to be earlier, has chips, dings and wear consistent with this type of delicate material.
