You can run out and buy a 21 lb. bike. Go ahead. Spend about 8k. Or buy this one; just as light; just as sweet; for a fraction of that. Take your 8k budget, buy this bike, and have enough left over to juice up the wife with a new living room set of couches and love seats. When you think about dollars per gram you can't beat this deal.
This is a rigid bike and I can't use it in Moab. But if you live in a place that has smoother trails, you'll be the first one to the top of the hill. It would also be great for grinding out miles of gravel or for light touring. Slap some 35mm tires on it and go cyclocrossing. Hell, put on some 21mm tires and race a criterium. This thing is light and fast. This would be the perfect cafe racer - first at the brew pub.
It looks and rides like a new bike. Wheels, tires, crank, chainring, fork, saddle; all these parts are brand new. Shimano XT brakes handle the stopping. Check out the photos for the condition of the frame. I photographed every blemish I could find, but there wasn't much to photograph. Look at the photos. They speak volumes.
If you're at all interested in this bike, look at my feedback. I take care of the people I deal with. There are a lot of happy people out there riding my unique bikes.

NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS!
NO SHIPMENTS TO HAWAII, ALASKA, OR PUERTO RICO! NO APO OR FPO ADDRESSES!
Items I sell have no warranty. I’ll sell you sweet parts at a bargain price
but no warranty and no returns. If you
want a warranty go to a bike shop and lay down the big money. Always have professionals assemble and adjust
the parts you buy. Always check your
equipment before use.
I’ll only ship to the lower 48 states to confirmed
addresses. If you don’t have a confirmed
address in the lower 48, get one. It’s
easy and then I can sell you stuff. You
can pick items up in Moab and save on the shipping. If you give me a heads up I’ll probably take
you for a fabulous ride.
If you don’t like my buy-it-now price, make me an offer, but
remember, if I accept your offer, you have to buy the item. When you make an offer it’s a legal contract
to buy the thing if I accept. It really
chaps my ass when someone makes an offer that I accept, and then they won’t
pay. I don’t want to hear how your wife
won’t let you buy it or your kid needs braces or your dog ate your credit card;
just cough up the cash you promised when you made your offer.
