Up for sale is a wonderful antique Wileman (early Shelley) trio set consisting of 1 cup, 1 saucer and 1 tea plate. This set is in the snowdrop shape and decorated with a twintone (lilac or mauve & green) trailing violets pattern on a white ground. The factory marks date it to 1894 - 1910.

Approximate sizes:

Cup - 2 1/4 inches or 5.75 cms tall

Saucer -  5.5 inches or 14 cms in diameter

Plate - 7 inches or 18 cm in diameter

The pieces are all stamped with the factory mark and various registration marks depicting the registration of the pattern & shape.

Condition: Beautiful condition being free from chips & cracks and restoration. There are occasional minor utensil marks. There is crazing to the pieces which is not discoloured. The gilding is largely in very good condition with just the odd minimal losses, the plate has a little more loss to gilding & the gilding has been applied over tiny 'rough' areas to the rim (see photos). 2 or 3 very tiny unglazed areas to surface of plate. As with all china of this age expect specks and spots of other colours within the glaze from both the manufacturing and decorating processes and tiny indents and raised areas to the surface some of which may be unglazed.

Overall this set is nice and bright in very good condition with little signs of use & would add to any Wileman / Shelley collection.

Please also check my other listings as I have more Wileman pieces in this patttern currently for sale.
