REL,
MJ Acoustics, BK Electronics and Ruark subs all have a Speakon High
Level input, so have some ProAc such as the ER1 and Rega’s Vulcan.
This is to use a professional cable to hook their subs up to any
amp. This is what you need to hook your sub up to your Hi Fi (red,
yellow and black ends attach to speaker outputs alongside existing
speaker cable - shown in pics.) It's very simple to do and I believe
MJ
Acoustics and REL
explain better on their website.
For
basic wiring intructions please view our PDF HERE
These
cables are also recommended for AV use in conjunction with a single
mono LF signal (the usual sub input for AV), as using both gives
better response to the low frequency signals your AV amp gives out.
Again, check out the MJ Acoustics website for more details. These
cable’s can retail at up to £30.00 a piece.
Please
note that the older RELs used an XLR connector rather than a Neutrik
Speakon NL4FX for their high level input ,so please check before
buying, it's quite obvious if you have a look at your sub inputs.
Please
let us know if you have an MJ subwoofer as their lead is slightly
different to all the other leads
