FACTORY BUILT DYNACO SCA-35 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

Up for auction is a factory built Dynaco SCA-35 integrated amplifier. It was my hope to keep the amplifier completely stock; however, the aluminum can power supply filter capacitors were both too far gone. I had purchased an SDS capboard in the past for use in an SCA-35 but ended up using a different board. I, therefore, used this board in the unit to make it fully functional. I will include the original diodes and resistors used with the can capacitors should the new owner desire to bring it back to stock. The 60/40/20/100uF can capacitor is available from Dynakit Parts. You would probably have to use a JJ 50/50uF 500 volt capacitor or equivalent with a clamp mount for the other as I could find no exact match FP style twistlock capacitors. You will also need to replace the FP style twistlock fiber mount for the one. The originals were mounted with rivets so were destroyed during removal.

This amplifier will include a matched quad of NOS or near NOS American manufactured 6BQ5 output tubes, two 7199 driver tubes and two 12AX7 preamplifier tubes. All will be removed from the sockets and boxed for safe shipping. The tubes were all tested on a recently calibrated Hickok 752 tube tester to make absolutely certain they are fully functional.

All potentiometers were cleaned with FaderLube and the rotary switch cleaned with Deoxit. The unit was then run for several hours with no problems detected. The line cord was replaced with a period correct non-polarized grey cord.

The front panel has lost some of the lettering especially at the usual power switch location but also at the volume control. Additionally, a previous owner attempted to grind away what was apparently a driver license number engraved near the right top. Replacement front panels can be purchased from Dynakit Parts although they will not have the thicker triangular top and bottom rails.

The back panel lettering is all intact although the surface has darkened with age. There is some minor chipping on the unswitched outlet on the back panel.

The case is in excellent condition with almost no marks or scratches.

Also included is a bound copy of the manual plus instructions for the SDS capboard.

All in all, this is a very good little amplifier that should give years of listening pleasure.

Please note that any and all serious offers will be fully considered!
