RARE 'GREEN ARABICUM'

                                    #14

        CERTIFICATE INCLUDED WITH PLANT

This plant is in a 12" pot and is 12" tall. These grow very fast. Nice skin, roots and branching. This one has an incredible amount of branches emerging all up and down the main branch and side branches. There is a small tan blemished area on one side near the top of the caudex. As the plant grows, this flakes off and new skin replaces it. I don't know what causes it on some arabicums but it does go away over time. You can hasten the peeling of it by brushing it softly once a week with an extra soft baby toothbrush and a drop of dawn in some warm water. It should bloom this summer or fall. Some are blooming already. It will be shipped with some soil on roots unless you request it removed. It will be ready to be put back into a pot with soil. ***The 2nd and last photos are of the mother plant are these are not for sale.***

This is a very nice Green Arabicum seedling, grown from seed from the infamous Master Ram at Adenium House in Chiang Mai Thailand. Mr. Ram spent a huge sum for a little know plant a decade ago. He groomed her well and she went on to conquer many awards across Thailand. Her branches are very parallel and supple, like a Thai Soco. Leaves are dark green and elongated. Caudex color varies from silvery green to soft green. She is highly floriferous, grows vigorously and is extremely hardy. On most occasions the main branch evolves then later triggers more branches, then eventually bends and opens up parallel to the ground, unlike other arabicum. The roots easily crawl around instead of migrating deeper and the leaves tend to bunch up like green blooms, nodes closely packed when mature.

**PLANTS MAY BE SHIPPED WITHOUT LEAVES**

You will receive the exact plant that is shown in the pictures.

***POTS ARE NOT INCLUDED***

Arabicum and Thai Socos are  fast growers with good cold tolerance down to 32 degrees. I have lots of seedlings and some really huge plants that I will be listing so keep checking back.

Adeniums are native to Sahel regions, south of the Sahara from Mauritania & Senegal to Sudan and tropicaland subtropical eastern and southern Africa & Arabia. It is excellent in pots especially for people who kill everything because Adeniums live with very little care and can take a good deal of neglect.

It will become larger, more interesting and more valuable every year with some attention. Most flowering occurs during the spring and fall in Florida, but flowering can occur any month of the year if it is in a warm, sunny location.

Adeniums love warm weather and most drop their leaves and go dormant during the cooler months. Adeniums are easily brought inside and grown as houseplants during the winter months in cold areas and will even bloom if put near a sunny window or under lights or you can allow them to go dormant.

If leaves and buds drop due to shipping, don't panic, they often do this and will come right back. Changes in temperature and or conditions often cause leaves to drop. Adeniums like plenty of light.... 4-6 hours of full sun and most appreciate some partial shade in the afternoon during the hot summer months in southern states to prevent sunburn of the caudex. 6 hours of full morning sun, then filtered afternoon sun is how I grow mine in Florida. Use a loose, well draining potting mix and water when almost dry. I use a mix of coco coir chips, pine bark fines or orchid bark mixed with some well draining potting mix composed of peat, compost, coarse river sand and wood chips. Time release fertilizer can be applied in the spring, then in winter, cut back on water and do not fertilize while they are dormant. Obesums please protect from temperatures below 45 degrees and arabicums below 32 degrees. Seedlings(first year) protect below 50. Every year or two lift the caudex a few inches. Gradually let the newly exposed, tender caudex that was under the soil adjust to the sun to avoid sunburn.

Facebook also has many excellent adenium groups where you can get lots of valuable information.

Shipping:

WINTER TEMPERATURES MUST BE ABOVE 45 DEGREES FOR OBESUMS AND ABOVE 32 DEGREES FOR ARABICUMS FOR ME TO SHIP. IN WINTER IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU TRACK THE PACKAGE AND BE THERE TO RECEIVE IT. LEAVING IT SITTING IN THE COLD OR EXTREME HEAT IN SUMMER MAY DAMAGE OR KILL THE PLANT. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EXTENDED WEATHER FORECAST PRIOR TO BIDDING TO MAKE SURE IT CAN BE SAFELY SHIPPED.

Smaller adeniums will be shipped priority mail, large, tall ones will be shipped standard to cut down on your shipping costs. Standard takes from 5-7 days. If standard shipping is noted and you would like to upgrade to priority please contact me prior to bidding for prices because priority can be steep on the large, tall plants. I do offer combined shipping, some may be able to ship for free with the other one but price will depend on which plants due to sizes and weight variations and often shipping in them together is more than separately due to the larger box size.

I cannot guarantee that leaves, buds or blooms will not fall off during shipping. However, if they do, more should replace them shortly after you pot them.  I will ship bare root or with some soil on the roots. They do fine shipped bare root. Please be ready to re-pot your plant when it arrives and do not fertilize right away. Let them rest in their new soil in a shady or semi shady location for a couple of weeks. If they dropped leaves during shipping, wait for new leaves to emerge before feeding and water only when the soil is dry. You can give them some Liquinox Vitamin B, Super Thrive and or Fox Farms Kangaroots in their water to give them a boost.

Payment: All payments are due within 3 days of purchase.

If you have any questions, or need more photos, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for looking and good luck if you decide to bid.
