Welcome to Jedspeds.co.uk! We sell component project kits to build
guitar effects! We also offer HFE measured Germanium transistors and loads
of other spare parts!
Please ensure you read the full listing prior to ordering!
This kit will provide you with all the internal parts to build yourself a
clone DIY effect pedal.
The build guides for our PCB kits can be viewed on the site, prior to making
any purchase. Please do have a look at them and judge the difficulty for
yourself. I appreciate our eBay listing is quite generic, so I strongly suggest
you spend 5 minutes reading the guide for all the in depth info on the kit that
interests you.
Some of our kits come with professionally fabricated PCB's, some are on strip
board. Either way, the circuits used to design them are verified and an accurate
representation of their tone. I don’t
sell prototypes, I know they work – I’ve built them! PCB kits are identified in
the listing header eg Tubescreamer PCB KIT. If there is no mention of PCB then
do not expect a fabricated board, it will be a strip board kit. eg
Tubescreamer Kit.
These are 9v supply kits - no batteries/clip
supplied (easy to add one yourself) Kit comes with a 9v socket but obviously …no
actual power supply. We do sell them on other listings though!
If you have ordered a PCB KIT then you download the instructions from
the homepage of www.jedspeds.co.uk If a
stripboard kit then instructions are sent via email once the purchase is
complete.
Please like our Facebook group, search
for Jeds Peds effect pedal kits. We regularly update it with new kits or
special offers.
The kits come with an undrilled 1590B die
cast enclosure (1590bb for klone’s + thrice wreck – pls note, appropriate size
is sent for all kits) I do offer a drilling service for an extra fee of £3. If
you do want this please message requesting invoice. Please note, that 1590B / 1590BB is a size of enclosure and there is no
inference to any particular brand.
Some of our kits are harder than others – none are impossible but if you
are a beginner or want some advice where to start just ask :)
Please note, whilst the kits are all fairly straight forward you do need
an understanding of what electronics component kits are about. You will be
supplied with a variety of components which you have to identify and put
together yourself. Do not expect a dot to dot type project, more an enjoyable
challenge. You also need some tools such
as a soldering iron, snips, solder, solder sucker, drill and other things that
you can get hold of quite readily.
The image shown on the listing is for representation only and may not be
of the kit you are buying. Please don’t ask why the kit has 4 knobs instead of
5 or why the transistors aren’t 2n3904 because that’s what’s in the pic. Trust
me, if your kit should have 5 knobs then you will get 5 knobs … It’s just
a pretty picture.
I can also put together a lot of other kits than the ones we sell as
standard so if you do want something that you can’t see, it’s worth asking me
if I can get it for you. It will be a strip board kit if you go for something
bespoke.
For a full list of available kits then please view our website or our
other listings on Ebay.
My feedback is very important to me, we are a small family run business.
I review the feedback I receive regularly and if someone leaves bad feedback I
will contact you and ask why with a view to resolving it. If in the unlikely
event you are unhappy with your purchase please contact me directly to discuss
the reasons why in the first instance. There’s no need to go feet first into an ebay
case or paypal dispute, we’re very approachable and open to discussion. I genuinely
just want people to build themselves a cool pedal so will do what I can to
help, without having my pants pulled down!
T+Cs and other general info.
All kits are hand-picked, on the odd occasion I may pick up the wrong
resistor or part and drop it in by mistake. If this happens then please contact
me, I will send the right bit super quickly.
These are DIY kits, when buying one you accept that it is a project that
may test you and none are incredibly easy. Tech support will be given if
required but the only person who can solve problems is you. You accept that you
will have to identify the components yourself. Google is a wonderful place
to get all the info you need to quickly ID your parts. Capacitors have codes
on, put the code in google and it tells you the value. Resistor band
calculators exist online too. They make it really easy J
If you want some help with your build then just drop us an email. Our
Email address is on the site header. It’s easier to communicate that way than
via any messaging service. We do give good support and charge nothing at all
for it. Experience is best shared we feel! There are also forums online!
I do not make money on postage. International postage prices vary per
area, UK items are all sent 2nd class
recorded at a price of £4.65.
If your item goes missing or is delayed I will replace it but I work
along the same guidelines as Royal Mail. I believe they do not count a packet
as lost until 15 working days have passed - international items will be much
longer than this and vary per country. I post items as quickly as possible and
email once posted to advise the buyer that I have sent it.
For my full list of T+C please read the page on Jedspeds.co.uk.
All my sales are bound by them.
What you can expect to get in your
kit – Enclosure, potentiometers, 9v input, jacks, footswitch, led, circuit
board (pcb or strip board) components such as resistors, capactitors, chips,
transistors and diodes and hook up wire. (list not exhaustive as each kit is
different)
Not included as standard – any finishing item such as knobs or decals, solder,
vinyls or tools and finally any holes in your enclosure unless ordered, a
battery or battery clip. We do not supply any form of power supply with the
kit. They use a 9v negative tip supply similar to the industry standard ‘boss
brand’
And just to clarify once more…these kits are fun, they are challenging
but this is a good hobby and quite rewarding. As with any hobby, at first it
will probably be a bit frustrating and make you scratch your head – but - once
you get that first circuit working you will be hooked! It’s a nice way to play
with your tone without spending hundreds on effects in shops. The kit itself is
supplied with the bits you need to make the circuit BUT making it is your bit!
I hope this listing is clear and we have tried to cover most things that
we get asked but if you do have a question then fire us a message. I’d rather
answer it before you buy than leave you wondering when it arrives!
Our kits are not endorsed by any manufacturer, and any brand name
mentioned is purely for comparison. Please note, I often update my listings to
reflect changes or questions we have been asked.
