There are no large rips or tears in it. Some of the white stitching has come loose around the edge. All of the brass / gold hardware is intact and it still looks very nice. Everything works fine including all of the hasps and hinges as well as the handle and the strap that holds the lid open. The plush red interior is still in excellent condition and it looks very nice. There are no rips tears or stains in it. There's an accessory pocket for your extra strings picks strap and tuner etc. The lid for it works fine and the small pull tab is still intact. All of the small metal cap feet are still in place. There's a lock on the side to secure your guitar while it's being stored or transported. The key is missing, but those are often listed on eBay. This listing is for a very rare, and very nice factory original Gibson USA Hard Shell bass guitar case. It probably came with a Gibson Triumph Les Paul bass, but we don't have one of those guitars here, to be sure. The case has a classic black tolex interior with a beautiful plush red interior. as you can see in the pictures, it still looks great and is in great shape, especially for being about 35 to 45 years old. The cases only came with the Gibson Bass guitars and they almost always stay with those vintage guitars, so the cases rarely come up for sale, especially in this condition. You can't even special order a Bass Case from Gibson, at any price, but here's your chance to grab one. Like any used vintage case, this one is not perfect, but once again, it really is in great condition, especially for being this old. Once again, this case probably came with a 1970's Gibson Les Paul Triumph Model Bass guitar, but we're just not sure. The case also has a symmetrical body shape so it will also work with a variety of right hand or left handed Gibson or Epiphone bass. Some of the Hofner Bass guitars as well as many other brands, may also fit. However, exact guitar sizes will vary, so please compare these measurements, with your bass guitar, to make sure it will work. These are the approximate inside dimensions between the pads, which will give a little. The lower bout is 15" wide The upper bout is 12" wide The waist is 10" wide The overall length is 47" plus there's a 1/2" pocket at the bottom for the lower strap pin. The depth is 2-1/2" and there's another 1" or so in the lid. If you have a Gibson Bass, you really need the factory original case, to maintain the maximum value and collect ability of your instrument. Of course, the case will look great, with your guitar displayed in it. Even if you already have a case like this, it's probably wore out.
