Vintage Holdsworth Equipe racing bike in the striking Holdsworth racing team colours of light orange enamel with kingfisher blue panels. It is in great condition, but as you might expect from a bike dating to the 1960's/70's, it is not perfect - please read full description below.

Saddle - Brooks B17 - name is evident on sides where it's embossed but has worn off the little plate attached to the rear
Seat post - Chrome steel (moves freely)
Stem - GB alloy (moves freely)

Frame - Prugnat lugs, Reynolds plain gauge steel tubing, (seat tube measures 22" from centre of cranks to top and top tube measures 22 and a half" centre to centre) the paint has been touched in here and there yet there are still some areas of bare metal (top of one fork and where the cable has rubbed the underside of the top tube). Horizontal dropouts so converts to fixed gear easily.
Forks - Reynolds 531 (with remnants of original decal)
Decals - on the top tube they are quite worn and have also been touched up by hand). On the down tube the remnants of the original decals have been overpainted by hand.
Wheels - 'Rigida' chrome 27" x 1 and quart" - smallish buckles on both wheels, could do with truing. Tyres ancient with cracking sidewalls but still hold high pressures and have plenty of grip.
Hubs - Maillard
Brakes - Weinmann 999 centre pulls
Shifters - Campagnolo
Front mech - Campagnolo - please note this is very well worn (the cage) and could do with replacement - I ran it with the double chainring but with a single fixed gear so temporarily removed the front and rear mech.
Rear mech - Simplex
Cranks - Chrome steel
Chainring - Double, chrome steel
Pedals - well rusted and one of the pair is bent, definitely need replacing - haven't bothered as I used it with my own clipless pedals.

With a little work it would run perfectly or do as I did and remove the mechs and use it as a fixie. Collection from South Croydon - no couriers. Cash on collection preferred. Any bidders with less than 5 feedback please contact me before bidding

Please also note the alloy handlebars are quite scratched which is why the bar tape reaches right to the stem.
