****Mini Clubman Estate 1974 Red – 6 months MOT & 12 month tax! ****

Low start and no reserve!

SERVICE HISTORY IN ORIGINAL BOOK WITH BOTH KEYS AND ORIGINAL KEY FOBS FROM SALES GARAGE AND SERVICE GARAGE

This is my much loved Mini Clubman Estate which is MOT’ed until October and has a full years tax at the beginning of this month.

I purchased it to the end of September last year after it had been rarely driven and garaged for a fair few years by the previous owner.  He drove it briefly every couple of weeks and continued to maintain it as it had sentimental value to him.

This car is original and has all the history you could hope for in a car like this.  Only one owner prior to me. The previous owner was a doctor who bought the vehicle new in 1974 for his wife.  When she passed away in 1983 he transferred it to his name.  He kept it but didn’t drive it much as it upset him too much.  His mechanic had to sell it on his behalf as he couldn’t bare to be there and see it go!

I bought it with MOT and tax so I could drive it home and did so with with no problem at all.

Before I bought it the mechanic told me it had recently had a new battery, new clutch, new master clutch cylinder and new radiator.  These items (that can be seen) all look a little cleaner and confirms this.

It also has a good spare with the jack in its bag.  The car also has Ziebart from new for the best rust protection.

The MOT was due a few weeks after purchase and at 54236 miles it flew through with only one advisory and now expires 14 October 2011.

The one advisory was issued for a brake hose that had been rubbing against the CV joint and was safe but looked a little worn.

I immediately had it replaced and the brake cylinder also was damaged during removal so this was replaced also.

I was planning to completely restore the car but I am now trying to move house and space and money forces this reluctant sale.

During my short ownership of the car, I have given the car anything it has required and the list of repairs during this time have been:

New steering wheel (original wheel  - new old stock)

New exhaust brackets at the mid and rear.

New exhaust trim.

The new wheel cylinder and hose as mentioned above.

Full service including oil, filter, spark plugs etc.

Distributor cap, rotor arm, and leads.

New speedometer cable (I accidently damaged the securing clip on the old one whilst cleaning everything around the dash area) – the car was NOT driven without the cable connected.

Carpets cleaned and freshened up.

New under carpet deadening in the front.

Halogen Headlight Conversion.

Rubbers for the pedals.

New bushes for the engine stabilizer bar (dog bone).

Hew heating valve with new gasket.

New thermostat with new gasket.

New silver rocker cover with T-bar fittings and new cork.

Rear spacer drums (fitted to later Mini’s these make the stance a little wider and were for wide 10” alloy wheels to fit straight on with NO rubbing) – The buyer can have the original ones if they want.

New plastic arch extensions to accommodate bigger wheels and spaced drums.  These also make it look better.

New original rear suspension rubber domes.

New rear complete knuckle joints.

New uprated rear gas shocks.

The only things that I hadn’t yet got round to doing is the bodywork.  The previous owner thought he was helping by putting filler over the rust patches and applying a bit of paint!  The front wings and A panels are rotten (the red paint covers the patches but they do need replacing) and there is a couple of little patches at the back that could be repaired BUT the usual major issue areas like the side window frames, sills, etc are excellent.

Also the front wings are normally expensive and difficult to source HOWEVER I did manage to buy some original ones off ebay that had been sitting in a garage in primer for a few years. They were really pricey but as they are rare I had no choice.  These will of course come with the sale so the buyer has no worry in sourcing them.  They are new and never fitted to a car just old stock.

I also have the rear seams at the sides and back to come with the car and it might need a right hand side valance but these are very cheap and readily available.  The A-panels were out of stock at my last visit to Mini Spares but are only about £15 from Mini Spares and cheaper on ebay.  The front seams are good.

I took all the parts and car to my body shop who confirmed it was easy work and said that the front valance was still good to weld up to the new wings and the little rust spot on the rear door was easy to patch.

The roof is solid and straight with no dinks or damage and the guttering is rust free and solid.

This car spent most of its life in a garage!

The wood veneer on the sides is all there – complete, original and in excellent condition.

It runs perfectly, starts every time and drives straight and smooth.  It got me through the winter snow and I happily sailed past BMW and Mercedes!  The engine also has the original panel that clips in and protects the front from the elements.

All four tyres are in excellent condition.

The interior is in excellent shape and totally original.  It has NO rips, stains or sags and is clean and comfortable.

It even has a little fuel left in the tank for the buyer to drive away with.

Insurance is really cheap as it comes under classic car insurance and is the riginal 998cc engine.

All parts are very cheap to buy through Mini Spares.

I love this car but unfortunately I am out of time, money and space.

You can clearly see from the list, the car has not been denied anything.

I also have a pair of new old stock rear chrome bumpers that cost me big money that I will be selling separately.  I also have a set of top condition 10” Mini Light wheels with chrome bolts and excellent tyres which will also be available separately and look great on the car.  If the price is right and the buyer wants them I can get them put on the car.

The usual rules apply, no time wasters, no tyre kickers and you are bidding to buy!

UK buyers only!

This car needs a loving new home.
