PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN 1896 CHESTNUT REPLICA IN CELLULOID WITH "McKINLEY" FRONT AND WITH "HOBART" REVERSE.

Beautifully formed celluloid replica of a chestnut in several shades of dark brown. 1.25" tall and .75" thick. Top has small brass loop and original suspension cord. Front of the piece has incised name "McKinley" with similar on back for "Hobart." The piece is hollow. Quite unusual and the only example we've seen. NM displaying Mint. Sen. Charles Dick Collection who was McKinley's campaign manager in 1896-1900 and replaced Ohio's Sen. Mark Hanna upon his death. Rare.
