Each card design starts with a pencil sketch and a color study. While I do use Martha Stewart craft punches to produce large quantities of specific shapes, I do not use die-cut machines to make any of the elements on these cards. In fact, the ROCpaperscissors name is derived from my initials (Rosa O Clifford), the principal material the cards are made of (paper), and the primary instrument used to produce them (scissors). The elements on each card are layered using a variety of techniques and adhesives in order to give them their three dimensional appearance.
Founder and artist, Rosa Clifford realized her childhood dream of starting a card making business as unique as the cards she makes. The family's youngest son was born with Down Syndrome and received weekly therapy for three years from a group of dedicated and wonderful ladies.
