Please check back often - We are listing items as quickly as possible! We are a nationally recognized charity. We describe items as best we can - we would rather receive a lower price by pointing out every flaw than incorrectly describe an item just to obtain a higher selling price.

100% of the net proceeds support Books For America - we are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington, DC. Books for America distributes books and more to organizations in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States serving disadvantaged communities and people. Recipients of donated books and other items include schools, assisted living communities for seniors, adult literacy programs, veterans’ hospitals, youth centers, women's shelters, prisons, hospices, and more.

We obtain books and more through donation drives in communities like yours. We occasionally obtain items that would be of more value to consumers than to our grant recipients and take a quantity of donated items and sell them on eBay - proceeds from these sales fund our literacy and educational efforts.

Customer Service
Books for America Customer Service is normally available during regular business hours from our Virginia office. We are not normally open on weekends or holidays. While you may send us a customer service request at any time, please do not expect any action to be taken on it outside our normal business hours. We generally respond to messages within 1-2 business days.

We send shipment confirmations, delivery confirmation numbers, and miscellaneous support communications by conventional e-mail. These notices may NOT appear in your eBay message queue. Be sure to check your registered e-mail address for the most recent information regarding your shipment.

We will send you an e-mail if we discover a problem with your order. We will give you two (2) business days to respond to that e-mail with instructions on how you want us to proceed. If we do not receive those instructions within that time, we will request cancellation from eBay for your protection.

IMPORTANT: Please do not include any special requests in the PayPal information box when you are submitting payment, we will not see this information. If you have any special requests for the item, please send us a message through the eBay messaging service immediately after placing your order. Thanks in advance!

Payment

We accept PayPal for all eBay orders.

Purchased items may be picked up at our used bookstore at 1417 22nd Street, NW in Washington, DC or at our warehouse location in Fairfax, Virginia. If you are interested in this option please contact us to arrange a time. You must commit to buy all items via eBay, but If you pick up from either the store or the warehouse we can submit payment with cash or credit card..

Shipping

All items sold by Books for America on eBay are shipped via USPS Bound Printed Matter, USPS Media Mail, or USPS First Class Mail (dependent on weight and type of media); USPS Priority Mail or USPS First Class International/Priority Mail International are available for an extra charge on selected titles only.

We ship to the address registered in eBay at the time of the sale. We will download your address EXACTLY as you have entered it so please be sure it is complete, correct, and current.

We typically ship orders within one business day of receiving payment. Within the 48 contiguous United States, estimated delivery is between four (4) and fourteen (14) business days from the day we ship the order, but may be as long as twenty-one (21) business days. Orders traveling to California, Hawaii, and Alaska tend to take closer to 14 business days to arrive. Contact us if you have any concerns about your order before leaving any feedback, please!

Returns

Your satisfaction is very important to us. Please contact us via eBay's messaging center regarding any problems before leaving negative feedback. Any defects, damages, or material differences with your item must be reported to us within 7 days of receipt of the item.

Any order that is returned by the USPS for insufficient or incorrect address can be reshipped for a fee of $3.99 or refunded. Refunds in this case will only be for the original purchase price of the item, minus any fee the USPS charges us to return the package.
