Each raw strap is hand cut from the whole hide and has square cut ends with straight cut edges ready for you finish as you desire. All our leather is carefully selected and inspected to avoid structural or cosmetic flaws, and minimize color variations, skin textures and range marks. Heavier 8-12 ounce latigo leather is suggested for making belts, leashes, or collars, please see our other listings.

*Throughout the industry leather is categorized and sold by the ounce weight per square foot. Leather is a natural product, slight variations in weight, color, and condition can occur depending on the exact location within a hide any individual strap is cut. A 2-5 ounce weight is commonly used for lite apparel, 5-6 ounce is good for lite straps, vests, chaps and jackets,  7-12 ounce are typically used for heavier belts and straps. 3" x 5" sample are available, please see length/width selections.
