Very Old Handmade and Painted French Faience "Alcide Chaumeil" Pottery Gravy Boat with Attached Plate.  The glossy white gravy boat has a heavy enameled, very colorful design that features a fire spitting dragon, a dog, a porcupine, and a swan with an arrow.  Each figure has a crown painted above its head.   Fleurs-de-lis and ermine tails decorate the space between the figures  The rims are scalloped, and decorated with tiny red dots that are encircled with a blue color. The white interior is decorated with a fleur-de-lis. The reverse side is marked, "AC 1023". The gravy boat has a wonderful smooth feel. It appears to be very old -- 1800's.

SIZE:  3 3/4 inches high x 8 1/2 inches long x 5 1/2 inches wide.

CONDITION:  Due to age and use, the gravy boat has wear and chips.  There are two rim chips on the gravy boat, and two chips on the attached plate -- one of these chips is large.  It is very clean, and bright.

Wonderful, unique, very colorful French gravy boat -- RARE piece. This piece matches the plate that I have listed.
