Q What if I want to try the rod before I buy, just to be sure I'm buying the right rod?
A: Most people wouldn't buy a car without taking a test drive, just because your buying a fly rod over the internet doesn't mean you have to put up with poor service. We will do our best to put a demo in your hand before you buy! We have the vast majority of WT rods available for demo. Call or email the store for details.....
Q: OK, you guys are serious about selling Winston rods. Do you offer competitive prices?
A: Many of the products that we sell are provided by manufacturers that do not allow discounting. Winston is one such manufacturer. In these situations we do our best to add value for the customer by matching a fly line to the rod (up to a $100.00 value provided at no cost) and include free expedited shipping. In the event that you find a Winston rod at one of our ligitimate competitors at a lower price we want to know about it. While we don't actively discount our stock, we don't want to loose a sale based on price. In these instances we will do our best to offer a competitive solution while respecting the guidelines these manufacturers have set in place. We may price match, at out sole discretion, in limited circumstances.
Q: How do I know the rod is sold through an authorized dealer and will have a valid warranty?
A: You will see many rods advertised on ebay that include a blank warranty card. These cards are worthless unless they are sold through an authorized dealer and the buyer has an original reciept of sale. You can confirm we are an authorized Winston dealer by visiting the Winston website. We are listed as an online dealer. If you find a seller with "new" merchandise at great prices make sure the seller is an authorized dealer. Buyer beware, if you cannot confirm the seller is an authorized dealer, you can be almost certain that the product is gray market merchandise or used goods being sold as "new" by a private seller - unlikely to have a valid warranty. In the case of a broken Winston, this is a potential $200.00 plus mistake!
