    Design
The Deep-Kick is designed to give the musician an advantage when recording or playing live by providing a method of sound reproduction that many struggle to achieve using a regular kick drum microphone. Our product has many features that make it the best option for your consideration. This unit has an extremely user friendly footprint weighing in right at 6 lbs. and it has a very unique and intelligent design. It has a small base mount, shaft and head unit that break down to three pieces in seconds and can easily be stored or transported from band practice to gig to studio. It’s designed to fit directly in front of the resonant head on the left or right side of the kick drum where the base will fit under the edge of the rim.

    Technical Summary
It is built to capture and reproduce the bass frequencies in the 20Hz – 120Hz range with roll-off to 2kHz and peaking in the 60hz - 85hz range. All of this means that the Deep Kick produces a low / low-mid frequency with most of the emphasis on the low range giving you a deep punch yet still retaining the desired kick drum sound. It is designed to accommodate an XLR microphone style connection so that you can be sure that when it’s time to plug directly in using a microphone connector, you’ll be ready. The main head unit enclosure is made of a dense acacia wood that absorbs some of the shock that a kick drum produces and the diaphragm is mounted to allow the correct amount of air movement to give you an exact amount of punch without distorting or overwhelming the low frequency signal. It’s mounted in the enclosure using rubber isolators on the back of the magnet and at the rim of the diaphragm to eliminate any additional unwanted vibrations. The unit has a 5” high watt diaphragm that converts the lower frequency sounds into a perfect bottom-end electric signal. This version of the Deep Kick is designed to work just like any drum mic would. Using a mixing board or a control unit with this mic is optional but not required and would only be necessary for leveling. You can also use physical positioning to adjust the sound level.

    Craftsmanship
We are very proud and pleased to use the beautifully crafted and well made Lipper Acacia wood bowls as the starting point in the design of our head units. When they arrive in our shop, they are initially processed on the bench, prepped for the electronics, then they are put on a wood lathe for further crafting. Once the exact dimensions are met that allows proper fitment and airflow, the head units are branded with the Deep Kick logo and then thoroughly polished and coated for a beautiful finish. They are then fitted with the highest quality electronics available. Many hours of research and development went in to the design of the electronics system and the style and refinement of these units.
