For your consideration today, this nice lot of vintage SPILES or TAPS.
Your bid is for this lot of TEN (10) spiles.
What you see in the pictures here, is exactly the lot you will receive.
Made of cast iron.
Very old varation. WARNER, PAT'D.
Probably dates back to the 1930s.
Each spile measures about 3" long.
Those were used to tap maple trees back in the days. Sap was colelcted to make maple syrup. All the cast iron hooks are part of the spile, this is where you used to hang the bucket underneath.
Found last year in a Quebec farmer's sugar shack, which was abandonned for decades.
Carefully inspected before listing. They are all in good condition, no missing parts, no cracks in the cast iron.
They are like a "barn find", sold "as is", dusty and rusty.
Those are very early taps & are a nice adding to your maple spiles collection, or for other crafts projects.
Thank you & have a nice day!
