JON. BAPT. SCHWEITZER FECIT AT FORMAN HEIRONYM. AMATI PESTINI 1813 VIOLIN
This is a beautiful Jon. Bapt. Schweitzer violin with no cracks or splits. The back of the violin is a solid piece. It does need some restoration but, overall, I was told it is in very good condition for being over 200 years old. I was advised that if the violin were restored, the value would possibly double in price, if not more. I have an Insurance Appraisal for the violin dated June 4, 2016 from a reputable Luthier in Georgia/US. It reads:

"The violin labeled Jon. Bapt. Schweitzer 1813 is a fully hand-carved, hand-varnished instrument. The top is a hand-carved medium grained solid spruce. The back, sides and neck are carved from solid, highly-flamed maple. The spirit varnish is a highly polished dark brown. The violin is valued at $2000.00 in today's market."

The bow is labeled Bausch and was told that it is in great condition. It does need to be restrung. The carrying case and inside are in good condition.
