Instructions

 

Simple, quick & easy to use! Just sprinkle into any Emulsion paint (dead flat, matt, soft sheen or silk)

Recommended Max ration - 100g per 1.5 litres of emulsion paint (unbuffed).

This 100g bag can treat up to 2.5 litres of emulsion paint (if buffed when paint dry).

Amazing if added to a clear glaze - Just add 50g per litre.

Go ahead and mix your own colour combinations.

 

Please make sure you order enough, to get the desired glitter effect that you want. This product will give you a super glitter shimmer up to 5% glitter coverage when buffed. (Please read FAQ section for definition of buffing)

 

Because all paints are different, we recommend you do a trial test by adding a smal amount of v1rtus Glitter Paint Crystals Additive into a small amount of emulsion paint, before carrying out your full project. FAQ's

What is buffing? 

Buffing is a quick & simple process. It is carried out by lightly rubbing a green nylon scourer over the dry painted surface, this will release thousands more crystals by knocking the head of paint off. In most cases this will increase glitter coverage from 1% - 5%.

 

Can I use any type of emulsion paint?

Yes you can! any standard emulsion: dead flat, matt, soft sheen & silk all work amazingly well, but try to avoid 'one coat', kitchen & bathroom, endurance, durable and acrlylic eggshells.

 

I have used different branded glitter paint additive products from B&Q, without success, what makes yours different?

We have tried and tested our glitter paint additives, and compared them with B&Q's branded products; we then asked 20 random people which they thought looked the best. The results we're 19/1 in our favour! Our Glitter Paint Crystal Glitter additive's are coated with a PTFE type coating on one side, this coating rejects the paint film, hence why you always get some glitter showing on the surface. In addition, this is why the quick buffing process will release so many more crystals.

 

Are PTFE type coatings safe to use around children? 

Indeed they are! They are used in many non-stick coatings for pots and pans eg.Teflon. In addition, they are used for coating some medical equipment because bacteria's find it hard to attach. We have certification to go with our product, stating it is child safe.

 

How does the holographic (rainbow effect) work?

It reflects light. The holographic crystals diffract white light, splitting the light into a colour spectrum, that's why we can see the rainbow of different colours. 

 

Take into consideration that lighting can make a huge difference to how your final project will look.
