Gorgeous antique bridal sheet and two matching lay-over shams with intricate, padded white on white embroidery accented with large areas of drawn-work lace. Soft, just off white pure cotton sheet. The intricate embroidery portrays the church to celebrate and honor the wedding. All decorated with highly padded flowers and cut work. The church even has a cut-work window and bell tower. Additional drawn work lace all across the top and 26 inches down the sides for a beautiful fold-over. Ladder work to mark the top hem of the sheet. The embroidery covers a full 21 inches down the center of the sheet. Quite spectacular. This sheet is approximately 92 inches wide and 106 inches long. The lay-over shams measure 28 inches by 41 inches. Constructed from strong, fine, antique cotton. We have gently soaked, sun dried, and pressed. Slide 8 shows a mark on the bottom part of the sheet. Some flaws in the weaving of the sheet. This set appears unused; with additional soakings, sun, and use, it may become snow white. The shams would be beautiful used on a bed or as table covers or window coverings. This set probably dates from late 1800's to early 1900's.
