A 16 megapixel backlit CMOS sensor, coupled with the new-generation imaging engine delivers a top sensitivity of ISO 6400 with low-noise characteristics and super-high resolution imaging with no compromise in image quality, color accuracy, and noise performance in any lighting condition, underwater and in the field.

Waterproof to 45 feet

PENTAX’s 17th generation waterproof digital compact camera has intensified ‘tough’ as the further enhanced the watertight construction allows for a depth of 45 feet—swim in the pool, snorkel and dive in the ocean, kayak river rapids, surf the big waves or get caught in a downpour, all the while capturing beautiful photography and HD video for up to two hours of continuous operation.

Crushproof

Heavy-duty and dependable in harsh, demanding conditions, the crushproof construction withstands weights up to 220 LBF (pound-force), preventing from damage at the bottom of a backpack, or when accidentally wedged between a body and a solid object.

Shutter Priority Shooting Mode

New to the WG-4, the Shutter Priority shooting mode provides more creative freedom by allowing the shutter speed to be selected manually, while other exposure parameters are automatically adjusted to capture the perfect image. The shutter speed can be set high to stop action in speedy subjects, or slow to blur movement for dramatic images.

Full 1080p30 HD video recording, h.264 compression

Capture full HD video in widescreen 1080p resolution (1920x1080) with efficient, high quality h.264 compression at 30 frames per second. Also featuring a high-speed camera function for slow-motion playback of captured movie clips and a fast-forward movie function. A micro-HDMI terminal is also provided on the camera body for simultaneous output of movie clips and sound to external devises.

Advanced GPS functions

Select GPS models come equipped with a sophisticated GPS module, which automatically records position data and travel log data onto captured images, and adjusts the built-in clock to local time. Find your way, check your direction, altitude, pressure and water depth with the camera’s digital compass and gauges right on the front of the unit.

Sensor –Shift Shake Reduction system

The triple shake reduction system combines an image-sensor-shift-type SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism with the digital Pixel Track and high ISO Shake Reduction modes to more effectively protect shake-prone images and low light photography for incredibly sharp blur-free images. Coldproof to sub-freezing temperatures of 14 degrees F (minus10 degrees C) making the WG-3 ideal for use in cold, snowy, wet conditions from skiing to snowmobiling, snowshoeing to sledding, or just building a snowman in the front yard.

Faster F 2.0 aperture with a 4X Optical Zoom

The newly designed optical 4X zoom lens offers a high-performance, large aperture of F2.0 at its widest angle to capture bright imagery no matter what the lighting condition, even in dim underwater conditions—all the while offering a complete range of shots from wide-angle to telephoto (25mm-100mm equivalent in 35mm format) for everyday and extreme photography. The camera’s Intelligent Zoom (digital) function also extends the range even further to approximately 28.8 times to cover the focal length to a 720mm super-telephoto (in 35mm format), to capture extra-high magnification images, such as wildlife, without compromising image quality.

Six LED Macro Lights to assist in close-up shooting

Capture the tiniest details while the positioning of six LED Macro Lights around the circumference of the lens barrel allows for brighter, uniform illumination on a subject when the Digital Microscope mode is selected—perfect for insects, flowers, nature and still-life photography.

3 inch High resolution LCD Screen with Anti-Reflection

An extra-large, high-resolution 3 inch color LCD monitor with horizontally extended 16:9 proportions, and approximately 460,000 dots, offers beautiful capture and playback— while the PENTAX-original AR (Anti-reflection) coating assures clear, glare-free images on-screen, even in harsh sunlight. Its wide-view design offers a clear view from approximately 170 degrees, making it useful in low and high angle shooting.
